A New Dress From an Old Book

At her picnic Charlotte was wearing a new dress and it has a story, so here it is... my Oma, great grandma, is also an artist. For many years she has inspired me and many others. She loves to sew and has tons of patterns. A few months ago she gave us a binder full of doll clothes patterns!

The dress Charlotte liked was for a ten inch doll so I had to shrink it but other than that it was perfect. Using silk and french lace I started to sew and found out that sewing things that tiny is REALLY hard, but also that I am better at it than I thought I would be.

It turned out wonderful and I learned a lot. I think could sew any thing after that. I also sewed a vest for her husband, it is way too hot here in Arizona to go around wearing a corduroy coat.

A Late Summer Picnic

School is back in and its hard to find time to just sit and relax. With all the hustle and bustle it's easy to lose myself, too busy to smell the roses, to hurried to notice the sunrise. Fortunately there are those fleeting moments I find to enjoy a late summer picnic.

Charlotte has pile of new acsessories from the Bits of Goodness fairy house swap. The quilt and pillows, basket of fruit, doily, dishes, and fairy baby were perfect for an afternoon outing.Thank you all for sharing your beautiful creations with me.

Totoro

Last day of summer break and I was stuck at home baby sitting. I needed a little magic and what should come to mind... TOTORO! My Neighbor Totoro is one of the cutest movies I have ever seen! And its creator Hayao Miyazaki has directed three out of my top ten favorite movies .
Since none of my friends could come over I made these two little guys to keep me company.

Ah summer... I don't live near a ocean, but I can pretend. *sigh* shells from JoAnn...
I made this necklace for my great friend, Aubryn. An hour before her birthday party I still hadn't made her a present so I whipped this together! Its simple, but I love it and so did she.

Charlotte's Shop

Welcome to Charlotte's Shop! Charlotte is my connection to the Fairy world/my alter-ego.

She makes delicate crowns for fairy royalty, jewlery, and many other enchanted things.

Charlotte is 32 and lives with her husband and three children. The shop is located under ground so curious animals don't snitch the shining crystals. Someday she would like to upgrade, get an internet device and sell her crafts on the online shop (Etsy).

Fairy Doll Swap

Last year (I know. I have a lot of catching up to do.) I had the privilege of participating in my aunt Missy's Luck of the Fae fairy swap. We were to make a fairy doll, a wand, and something sparkley. So here they are...

This is Airelise of Finwood. She loves to dance in the morning sun light, converse with the butterflies, and eats only cakes and dew.

This was a fun one. It's more of a fairy plant then a wand.

This one I had to think about... something sparkley... mirrors are shiny...dew covered spiderwebs...jewelry...combine all three and voila, a spiderweb pendant! I decorated the box and got the fairies ;) to write a descriptive scroll for it and Airelise.

I loved making them all. I miss my fairy but I also love the one I got back from Crow Haven Farm.
